So many of the incredible educational programs, historic preservation projects, and general improvements to the Washington State Fair were initially funded by the Foundation, and our generous supporters (like you)!
Which of these rank among your favorites?
The Farm at SillyVilleopened in 2017, providing a hands-on learning environment for children and adults exploring the agricultural history of Washington, while the Traveling Farm visits more than 50 elementary schools each year, at no cost to families or schools.
The Farm at Sillyville was updated in 2023, by way of the Bee Box Exhibit, exploring the world of pollinators, and their role in our biodiversity and farming industry. It also features a garden focused on Washington native plant species and creating a bee-friendly landscape.
The Piglet Palace Barn was built with an open layout for easier access to the pens, and four video monitors that allow for viewing even when the barn is crowded.
Located underneath the Grandstand, the Fair History Experience is a permanent exhibit showcased during the Washington State Fair in September, and Spring Fair in April. Celebrating the rich history of the Fair and its local community, this interactive, story-telling exhibit highlights historical artifacts, celebrity connections, favorite foods, and more.
The Historic Grandstand Lounge lies across from the original Fisher scone booth, giving guests the chance to relax with comfortable chairs, a recharging station, and memorabilia from past Grandstand performers.
The Foundation assisted in the funding of The Voices of the Fair, an hour-long documentary capturing the living history of the organization, while the Fair’s official podcast, The Coaster Chronicles, shares exclusive interviews and stories from its visitors and staff.
The addition of Classic Coaster Park in front of the wooden coaster added in green space, informational displays, and benches with the best view of the timeless thrill ride.
